My friend, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. (3 John 2)
1. God's power can make you secure.
"I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile" Romans 1:16
2. God's power results in change.
"God's kindness leads you toward repentance" Romans 2:4
3. Sin makes change necessary.
"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23
4. God still loves you.
"God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8
5. Sin earns death, but God offers life.
"The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23
6. Confessing Jesus as Lord means that you recognize His rightful authority over you.
"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. For, 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" Romans 10:9-10,13
7. You now have hope.
"The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.
Now if we are children, then we are heirs --heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may so share in his glory. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angel nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any
powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:16-17, 38-39
8. Faith = life for God.
"I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy to offer your bodies as living sacrifies, holy and pleasing to God -- this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is -- his good, pleasing, and perfect will"
Romans 12:1-2
If you do not have a Bible (or find the one you have difficult to understand)
and are seriously interested in learning more about Jesus Christ
and His plan of salvation for your life, please contact us.
We would be pleased to provide you with a Bible
and some reading notes to help you get started.
Alternatively you can download the Online Bible for your computer free of charge.
Or you can listen to the Bible while you surf the Internet! The Audio Bible
Whether you have decided you want to be a follower of Jesus Christ or are still making up your mind the following steps will help you.
1. Try to read something from the Bible every day and ask God to help you understand it.
(Try John's Gospel and Acts first.)
2. Pray every day ~ that is, have a conversation with God just as you would with your closest friend. You do not have to be in a special place, kneel down, clasp your hands, or close your eyes. You don't have to use special language, but as in any friendly conversation do be polite and be prepared to listen to God as well as speak to Him.
3. Spend time with your Christian friends each week. But remember that they are still learners too, none of us are perfect. We all need to look to Jesus as our role model and best example. Still, your friends can help you find answers to many of your questions, and anyway, it is good spend time with people who care about us.
