My friend, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. (3 John 2)

These questions have been at the top of
mankind's list like forever!

Is there a God?
If so, can He hear me?
If so, does He care?
How can I connect with God?

Throughout history, mankind has jumped through all sorts of hoops
in an effort to answer these questions.
Have you ever stopped to wonder why?
Could it be that there is something - or someone - beckoning?

Could St. Augustine have been right, when he wrote in the third century that "Our hearts are made for God, and we are restless until we find Him?"  Could it be that there is more to this life (as the song goes) than living and dying?

Maybe we've made our search too complex...

After all, many of the world's religions come packed with a tremendously detailed list of do's and don'ts - all of which are supposed to help us connect with God.  Maybe the answer is much simpler than we think.

What if the God of the universe had already taken the necessary steps? What if He had done the hard part in enabling us to connect with Him? What if the God who created everything was just as interested - perhaps more interested - in having a relationship with us than we are with Him?

That is exactly the sort of God who is revealed in the God of the Bible.  A God who is here.  Not pushing, or forcing His way into our lives, but who invites everyone to turn to Him - the source of real life.

Sometimes He speaks to us in unusual ways...

In the Old Testament He appeared in a burning bush.  He also appeared to His followers in a pillar of clouds.
But we are also reminded that He can be seen and heard in the beauty and detail of a simple leaf, a rolling ocean, a radically changed life - or even in a clever phrase on a billboard.

If there is a God - and you probably already sense that there is - it would only make sense that He would want to connect with us ... that He would want to relate to us intimately.  The question that remains is, "How do we connect with God?"  How should we make ourselves available to Him and His ways?

Here are ten great ideas:

1.   Realise He is here, and He's not silent.
2.   Speak to Him.  Ask Him to reveal Himself to you.
3.   Discover more about Him.  Check out His best-seller, The Bible.
4.   Come to terms with the fact that He loves, loves, and loves you some more.
5.   Make Him a priority in your life.
6.   Don't be afraid to ask questions - there's no other subject that's worth studying more.
7.   Choose God's direction for your life.
8.   Each day discover new ways to discover and follow Him.
9.   Open your own arms to His love.
10. Find and get connected in a healthy and loving local church.
